---------------------- OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION ----------------------
Performs trade and custodial maintenance work on buildings, surrounding grounds and equipment; assigns duties to program and seasonal workers.
---------------------- RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES -----------------------
01 DUTIES (NOT IN PRIORITY ORDER)
01 Performs set up, maintenance and cleanup for fairground events which involves such duties as setting up tables, stages, public address systems, etc.
02 Performs custodial and maintenance duties such as, but not limited to, servicing, cleaning and supplying restrooms; cleaning windows and mirrors, gather and empty trash, repair and replace plumbing fixtures, sinks or toilets; unclogging stopped drains and pipes, etc.
03 Performs carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing and maintenance tasks in order to construct and maintain fairground buildings and equipment.
04 Plants flowers and shrubs, maintains lawn; does grounds upkeep by mowing, watering, tree-trimming and fertilizing within the fairgrounds property.
05 Maintains building furniture and fixtures by changing light bulbs, repairing tables, chairs, windows, door locks, etc.; replaces fuses and operates power equipment such as polishers, floor buffers, etc.
06 Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to automotive equipment by changing oil, spark plugs, tires, welding etc.
07 Records daily work records of program workers' hours, event hours, time put in on specific projects, etc.
08 Operates heavy equipment such as snow plows, tractors, water trucks, forklifts, front end loaders, truck trailers, dump trucks, etc.
09 Operates power tools such as chain saws, skill saws, drill presses, drills, chop saws, lawn mowers, etc.

STATUS: Non-Exempt CLASS/GROUP: Non-Union
PAY TYPE: Hourly SALARY/GRADE: With CDL UH14 RANGE: $12.81 - $16.68
                                                   Without CDL UH13 Range: $12.22 - $15.92
--------------------------- WORK SCHEDULE ----------------------------
The normal work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.
----------------- OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATES/LICENSES -----------------
01 Oregon Commercial Driver's License, preferred.
----------------- EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL PREPARATION -----------------
Work experience in jobs having similar duties; experience in building maintenance, including knowledge of mechanical repair practices; knowledge of safety precautions in performing duties; skill in operating heavy equipment and the use of a variety of hand and small power tools; skill and training in gas and electric welding.
