Performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance of parks and grounds and operating automotive and light equipment used in the Parks Division of the Community Development Department. Must pass pre-employment drug screen.


01 Mows, trims, and waters lawns in County parks on an established schedule.

02 Maintains trees and shrubs including trimming, pruning, fertilizing, planting and watering.

03 Cleans, paints and performs minor repairs on buildings, playground equipment and other park facilities under direct supervision.

04 Cleans and maintains rest rooms on an established schedule.

05 Operates, maintains and repairs mowing equipment, tractors, light trucks, and related equipment.

06 Controls weeds and pests in County Parks.

07 Collects and disposes of garbage and trash on an established schedule.

08 May be required to fill in for Site Attendants.


This is a temporary seasonal position; the normal work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.


01 Current, valid Driver's License.


Work in jobs having similar duties; experience with hand and power tools.


DRIVING: Periodic - Does not occur on every shift

A current, valid, and properly classed driver's license is required; driving record must, for a period of three years immediately preceding employment or any date during employment thereafter, be free of any violation for: 1) reckless driving, 2) hit and run, 3) driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or 4) more than one moving violation of any other type. Operate motor vehicle, as in a car, van, or truck in the course of one's employment.
