Performs inspections of building and structures of all complexities in order to ascertain that electrical codes are enforced in accordance with the State of Oregon and County Ordinances. Must pass a Non-DOT drug screen test to be eligible for employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following may not be all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
01 Conducts plans reviews and field inspections of buildings and structures as they apply to the National Electrical Code as adopted by County Ordinance.
02 Recommends or takes appropriate action to ensure compliance of electrical installations with plans and applicable codes.
03 Consults with and advises contractors and builders regarding applicable regulations.
04 Performs field checks of electrical installations.
05 Assists other departments, contractors and builders regarding applicable regulations.
06 Interprets electrical code requirements; investigates violations and takes appropriate action.
07 Answers code related questions and assists the public at the counter.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
01 Current Driver's License
02 Oregon State Certification at the "A" Level Electrical Inspector.
03 Oregon State One and Two Family Electrical Inspector certification.
04 Oregon State Manufactured Dwelling Inspector certification.
05 Oregon State General Supervision Electrician license.
The normal work schedule is 8.00 hours per day 5 days per week; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. Full or partial absence during any scheduled shift, arriving late, or leaving early, for whatever reason, may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness, injury, or other personal emergency.
